how to join
The American Women's Club of Shanghai is always looking for new members. If you are interested in becoming a member (or just want to get information about our club) we offer a monthly Meet Greet. This event usually takes place the first Wednesday of each month. Further details can be found on the calendar page on the web site. This event is also a great way to meet new friends. You do not need to be a member to attend the monthly Meet & Greet.

- Membership Fee is 300¥ and covers Sep. 1 - August 31. To learn what the membership dues are used for Click here
- AWCS applications are available in Word format. If possible, please download this, fill it out on your computer, print it, and bring it along with your membership fee. Otherwise, you may print a PDF format form, or we can provide a form for you when you register.
- Please bring your passport or a copy with you. In order to respect the regulations of the Chinese Government, we can only accept US and other Foreign Passport holders as members.
- Your membership is a family membership. You will receive a membership card and number once you have completed your membership enrollment. Your membership card is required to receive member discounts.
- New members will receive an invitation to join our email list. Our email address list is strictly confidential, and will never be shared with anyone outside our organization. We use it to send out monthly announcements of scheduled events, and weekly event reminders, and for periodic special announcments. Due to industry standards to control spam, we cannot add you unless you agree. Please watch for an email from noreply@googlegroups.com, with a subject heading of "Google Groups: You've been invited to AmericanWomensClubShanghai". (Be sure to check your spam folder too). Then open this email and follow the directions. We promise you'll be glad you did!
- All members receive a subscription to club's monthly magazine, the Spirit. If you become a member after the 20th of the month you will not receive your first copy of the Spirit until the month after next. If after this time you are not receiving the magazine, please contact distribution@awcshanghai.org
- Renewing members do not need to fill out an application unless their information has changed from last year.
- For all new members and renewing members, if you have not paid your dues before the end of October, you will not be included in the club directory.
- If your card is lost or stolen you will be charged a 50¥ replacement fee.
